![]() What is an annular solar eclipse?Īn annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is positioned too far away from the Earth in its orbit to cover the Sun completely. Each year, solar eclipses can occur from two up to five times. For this reason, the Earth becomes engulfed in the Moon’s shadow only at certain periods of time.
